FAQ
What is the best time to plant tea?
Two seasons are considered suitable for planting. The first is Autumn (October-November) and the second is the end of winter and beginning in early spring (February-March).
What is the right way to plant tea?
Planting is done in rows spaced 50-60cm apart. On these lines the plants are spaced 40-50cm apart. It can be done with planters (tobacco or tomato), after proper adjustment of the distance of the trays, or by hand in small pits or with a seeder.
How is tea harvested?
The harvest takes place in July, when the plants are in full bloom. During the harvest, the whole inflorescence and a part of the shoot is cut, 5 to 6 cm long, with a knife or scythe or by hand.
The harvested quantity is then transferred for drying to sheds that have a roof made of tiles, to obtain a green-yellow color that is the desired one. If the drying is not done in the shade or when the shed is made of sheet metal then the plants are discolored, which result in quality loss.
